2012 Disney’s Flower & Garden Festival
On May 19,2012, we went to Disney’s Epcot Center for the Annual Flower & Garden Festival. The theme this year was “Where Epcot Springs to life” and included over 100 different topiaries, most of which were Disney Characters, themed in their own gardens around the park. Some of the gardens featured scenes from Fantasia, Toy Story, Beauty and the Beast, Pixar’s Cars and Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs. Other gardens featured Disney Characters and some featured animals. Sunday May 6, 2012 found us anchored in between the islands of Pico and Faial in the Azores. Our port of call was Horta on the island of Faial, where we had to tender into the marina. Arriving on shore we headed toward the South end of the town, along Rua Vasco da Gama to the Fort of Sao Sebastiao. We then headed North past the Church of Nossa Senhora das Angustias, the Fort of Santa Cruz and the Convent of Sao Francisco. When we retired and moved to Florida from Bellport,Long Island, NY, we began to cruise more and for longer periods of time.
