Piraeus is the water gateway to Athens. From the cruise pier, we walked about 30 minutes to the metro station. From there we took the train into Athens. Once in Athens we went to the Parliament Building, the site of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, to see the changing of the guard. After the ceremony we strolled down Ermou Street. We went past the Cathedral, several other churches and then wandered the Plaka winding up in Monastiraki Square for lunch. After lunch we wandered the Ancient Agora before heading back to the ship.

When we retired and moved to Florida from Bellport,Long Island, NY, we began to cruise more and for longer periods of time. Our travels have taken us up the Amazon, around South America and the Antarctic, North Africa, the Mediterranean and Black Seas. We hope you enjoy some of our images and that they can help in planning your own dreams.
