La Spezia, Italy, a tender port was our gateway to Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre is 5 cliff hugging fishing villages connected by foot paths, and rail. These towns are on the UNESCO world heritage list. After tendering ashore we drove to the top of the village of Manarola. We then walked down thru the town to the water. From here we walked along the “Via dell’ Amore” (Path of Love) , a path that was cut into the cliff that connects Manarola with Riomaggiore. After exploring Riomaggiore, we boarded a boat for a 30 minute scenic ride along the coast to Vernazza. In Vernazza we explored the town before hopping the train back to La Spezia.

When we retired and moved to Florida from Bellport,Long Island, NY, we began to cruise more and for longer periods of time. Our travels have taken us up the Amazon, around South America and the Antarctic, North Africa, the Mediterranean and Black Seas. We hope you enjoy some of our images and that they can help in planning your own dreams.
