St Barts
After 2 days at sea we anchored outside Gustavia, Saint Barthelemy, a small island that is part of France. There were several small cruise ships in the harbor, the Prinsendam being the largest. We tendered into town to look around and get some Euros for the rest of our trip. The day was warm and sunny after an early morning shower. St. Barts is a tender port. Today there was a large yacht regatta called the Bucket Regatta, with over 30 competing. The harbor was very crowded with all sorts of vessels to view the event. At the dock the crews were preparing their crafts for the race of the day. We walked the town and took in the sights. In the afternoon we watched the race from our veranda. When we retired and moved to Florida from Bellport,Long Island, NY, we began to cruise more and for longer periods of time. Our travels have taken us up the Amazon, around South America and the Antarctic, North Africa, the Mediterranean and Black Seas. We hope you enjoy some of our images and that they can help in planning your own dreams.
