We arrived in Barcelona at 4:00pm on November 16th. The weather looked like rain and the sun went down at 5:30 PM, so we decided to stay on the ship and start our adventure in the morning. In the morning we took the shuttle bus into town and were dropped off near the Columbus Monument at the foot of Las Ramblas (the main walking street). We traveled up Las Ramblas past the different kiosks, artists and street mimes stopping at Mercat Boqeria (Public Market) on our way to Praca de Catalunya.
From here we hopped the #24 bus for a 40 minute ride to Parc Guell, a park designed by Gaudi. We explored the unusual architecture and layout. In the park were many Monk Parakeets, building nests in the Palms. After our visit to the park we returned to the Barri Gotic section of Barcelona, where we had Basque style Tapas for lunch.
