On January 3, 2008 we embarked from Ft Lauderdale on a 68 day cruise around South America and the Antarctic. This trip is divided into 3 segments.
Our first stops in the Caribbean included Grand Cayman and Costa Rica. We then passed through the Panama Canal and began sailing down the west coast of South America to Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and Argentina.
Then we rounded Cape Horn and headed to Antarctica. After 3 day in Antarctica, we sailed to South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.
We then proceeded up the east coast with stops in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil which included a 700 mile trip up the Amazon River. After leaving Brazil we stopped at Devil’s Island, Barbados and Puerto Rico before returning to Ft. Lauderdale on March 11, 2008.
