Our second day in Hong Kong, March 3, 2016, was spent in the outlying towns of Stanley and Aberdeen. After crossing the harbor on the Star Ferry, we got on the bus to go to our first stop, Stanley. Traveling through Hong Kong and going through a tunnel, we were on the other side of the island on a peninsula that passed by Repulse Bay on our way to Stanley. Stanley is noted for the Stanley Market, a bargain hunters dream place to shop and its’ many seaside restaurants along the beach. After our stop in Stanley we then went to Aberdeen which is noted for its’ floating village and floating seafood restaurants located in the Aberdeen Harbor. Here we took a Sampan ride that passed the famous Jumbo’s Floating Restaurant and the many house boats and fishing boats that were moored in the harbor. It was interesting to see these small boats surrounded by modern sky scrapers.
