After two days at sea we arrived in the port of Callao, a suburb of Lima in Peru. The port is a typical container port, with a small Peruvian Craft Market when a cruise ship is in port. Since we had visited Lima in 2008, we decided to go to the suburb of Miraflores on the shuttle bus. Miraflores is a modern area built on top of a cliff, with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.
Once in Miraflores we had lunch at a restaurant that overlooked the Pacific Ocean and then we strolled down the Malceon (promenade) along the cliff to the Parque del Amor to see the “Kissing Couple Statue.”
