From India we crossed the Indian Ocean and docked in Muscat, Oman on March 22, 2017. In Oman we had a full day starting with the local fish market, then proceeding to the Hajar Mountains and our second destination, Nizwa. In Nizwa we visited a traditional souq and the Nizwa Fort, which was built in the 1650s and is now Oman’s most visited National Monument. We left Nizwa and went to the town of Bahla. Here we stopped to view the Balha Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and then proceeded to our final stop, the Jabrin Castle, another impressive castle built in the 1600s.
