We arrived for our overnight in Naples after venturing only 11 miles from Sorrento at 7 pm. We spent that night on the ship. The next morning we took an excursion to Herculaneum, a city that was total covered in mud during the 79AD eruption of Vesuvius. The buildings stand much the way they were and the detailed frescos and tile work are abundant. After we returned from Herculaneum, we ventured into Naples for some lunch and to see Plazzo Reale.
