On January 9, 2017, we entered the Panama Canal at 6:00am in the morning and went through the 3 Gutun Locks. We then had to anchor for about 3 hours in the lake until we could proceed. In the lake we could see the New locks which were just opened last year. After our wait, we then moved through the canal passing several dredges, work boats and tugs. We also passed Gamboa the central hub where the large cranes and equipment are housed. At 3:30 we entered the Pedro Miguel locks and then completed our journey with the Milaflores locks. By the time we finally left the canal it was twilight and we enjoyed another marvelous sunset.
