On January 9, 2016 we arrived in the small town of Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. We have been here several times before but we never really explored the town which lies just outside the port. To leave the port area we walk through the port craft market and right into the town. We headed right to explore park Balvanero Vargas which is in the process of being renovated with monuments depicting the history of the area. We then proceeded up Avenida 2 which had the final remnants of Christmas on display as well as many vendors, artists and shops. Along the way we passed a relic from the past, a bank of Pay Phones rusting away. We stopped in the small Mercado Municipal to see the various fruits and vegetables that were offered for sale. On our return to the ship there were 2 musicians playing a xylophone to entertain us.
