Puerto Vallarta

After leaving Guatemala, we traveled up the Mexico coastline until we reached Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where we docked on January 16, 2017. The ships dock about 2 miles away from the old town, so we took a taxi there to the main square where Los Arcos, and the Church of our Lady of Guadalupe are located. Along the shore is the Malecon, Puerto Vallarta’s famous boardwalk, which is lined with may sculptures including the iconic Caballo del Mar. We saw live performances from the Rock Sculpture Artist  and the Flying Indians. There are also handicraft shops featuring paper mache statues and dolls and beaded figures made by the Huichol Indians.
