Shanghai, China was our destination on February 26, 2017. After docking in the city on the Bund side, with a panoramic view of the Budong, we took a tour around the city with our first stop being the Shanghai Museum. The museum houses ancient Chinese art featuring bronze, jade, ceramics and furniture. We then went to the Jade Buddha Temple, which features two Jade Buddhas imported from Burma. Continuing on we went to the Bund, Shanghai’s Waterfront area with a boardwalk that overlooks the new area of the city called Bundong. The Yuyuan Garden was the next stop. It was a traditional chinese garden built in 1559, featuring ponds, fish, rocks and plants, as well as traditional buildings and sculpture. The last stop of the day was Old Town, a shopping district with some classic Chinese architecture. At night the nightly light show was readily seen from our ship.
