On February 11, 2016, our 2nd day in Sydney, after taking the shuttle into town, we strolled from Circular Quay, past the Sydney Opera House, towards Hyde Park. Around Circular Quay there were 3 more Chinese New Year luminaries, the rabbits, the dragon and the monkeys. As you walk along you get postcard views of the Harbor Bridge and when you turn the corner, the Opera House. We then walked up the hill and continued past the Sydney Hospital with it’s good luck boar sculpture, just like the one in Florence, Italy, an interesting Mahjong sculpture and a quaint coffee shop at the Sydney Living Museum. When we reached St. James Church, we were at the north end of Hyde Park. Walking through the park we stopped at the Archibald fountain and then crossed the street to see the St. Mary’s Cathedral.
Our sail away from Sydney revealed one last look at the famous harbor and it’s 2 iconic landmarks as we viewed them from the Sea View Pool on deck 8 aft.
