Madeira Portugal

On April 18, 2017, we docked in Funchal on the island of Madeira, our last port on this cruise. The ship was docked just across from the main town of Funchal. We took a shuttle into Funchal and boarded the Hop on Hop off Bus, that toured the town and went to a small fishing village, Camara de Lobos. Madeira is a mountainous island that is covered with terraced gardens which have mostly bananas in them. The fishing village is in a small cove with many colorful boats and waterfront restaurants. Funchal, Madeira, Portugal

On April 22, 2016, we reached our last port of call, Funchal, the capital of the islands of Madeira. Situated on a mountainous island, Funchal is a part of Portugal. We rode around the island visiting the Municipal Market and the Flower Market, which is just outside of it. From the harbor part of the city, all buildings and farming rise up on the cliffs. We traveled to Camara de Lobos, a small fishing village nestled in a cove.
