Hong Kong Day 1

We docked in Hong Kong on March 2, 2017, for a two day stay. On day one we took the Star Ferry over to Hong Kong Island to board the Hop on Hop off Bus and head out of town to Stanley. In the city we passed many Double Decker Trams which travel among the skyscrapers. Once out of town we went around  Repulse Bay, then over to Stanley and the Stanley Market. On the way back to Hong Kong, we stopped at Aberdeen, home to a floating city with house boats, fishing boats and even a floating restaurant. Hong Kong (Day 3)

Our last day, March 4, 2016, in Hong Kong we spent touring around Kowloon, the part of Hong Kong across from Hong Kong Island and where our ship was docked. Kowloon is highly populated and neon signs on the famous Nathan Road, compete for your attention. We ventured into the Tin Hau Temple, that is located in Kowloon and was built around 1885. From the temple we walked to a local Chinese Street Market, which sold all kind of meat, poultry, produce, herbs and flowers. There was even a wet market that sold all kinds of live seafood. Hong Kong Day 2

Our second day in Hong Kong, March 3, 2016, was spent in the outlying towns of Stanley and Aberdeen. After crossing the harbor on the Star Ferry, we got on the bus to go to our first stop, Stanley.  Traveling through Hong Kong and going through a tunnel, we were on the other side of the island on a peninsula  that passed by Repulse Bay on our way to Stanley. Stanley is noted for the Stanley Market, a bargain hunters dream place to shop and its’ many seaside restaurants along the beach. Hong Kong at Night

During our stay in Hong Kong, we spent our first evening touring Kowloon to see the neon lights. Traveling around we passed the “the busiest cross walk in the world,” the Ladies Market and the Night Market. We went down Temple Street with its’ bustling markets and neon lit side streets. On our second night with took in the Hong Kong light show, on Victoria Harbor, that is orchestrated to music. At the end of the day we took in the Lion show, which was performed on the ship. Hong Kong (Day 1)

At 9:00am in the morning of March 2, 2016, we approached the harbor of Hong Kong, where we stayed for 3 days. Entering we passed the very large Chinese Permanent Cemetery on a hillside over looking the harbor and a quaint fishing village  with the skyline of the city in the background. Our destination was the Ocean Terminal that was on Kowloon, on the other side of Hong Kong Island. To get to Hong Kong Island, you can take the 15 minute Star Ferry. Once on the other side we toured the city on the Hop on Hop off Bus, getting off at the Victoria peak tram staton and taking the tram to the top...
