Ile des Pins, New Caledonia

We anchored in Kuto Bay off  Ile des Pins, New Caledonia on February 8, 2014. The island was discovered by Captain Cook who gave the island its name after seeing the tall native pines. After a short 10 minute tender ride we ventured out to explore a small part of this beautiful island.  The tender let us out on Kuto Beach and from there we took a short walk though the forest to another bay, Kanumera Bay, where the sacred rock can be seen.
