Florence, Italy

On April 16, 2016, we docked in Livorno, Italy, the gateway to Tuscany. We took shuttle to Florence, to walk around the historical center of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The ride into Florence took about a hour passing though the tuscan countryside and its many vineyards. Passing over the Arno River, we went to the historic area and were left off only a block from the Santa Croce Church which housed the tomb of Michelangelo. Naples, Italy

We arrived in Naples, Italy on April 14,2015 and decided to use the HoHo Bus to get around the city. We found the bus at the pier and took it to the Castle Nuovo where the tour began. The bus took us through the city passing many plazas such as the  Piazza Matteoti. Throughout the city there were many shops whose goods spilled out onto the sidewalk. The residential buildings that featured balconies were very colorful. After touring the old section of the city we drove along the south coastline for a while with some views of the city. Messina, Sicily, Italy

After leaving Greece we entered the Strait of Messina, which divides the Italian mainland and Sicily on April 13, 2015.After entering the harbor and passing the Virgin Mary Statue, we docked around noon in the port of Messina on the Sicilian side. We went into the city for some sightseeing and lunch. The old part of the city with the Duomo and the Clock Tower was close to the ship and our first stop on our walk. We then proceeded to explore the streets with its Gothic Architecture and traditional balconies. Amalfi Coast, Italy

After docking in Naples on April 21, 2012, we took a ships tour down the Amalfi Coast, considered to be one of the most beautiful coastal drives in the world. Due to the narrow roadway, we boarded a small mini bus and began our trip up Naples Bay toward the Bay of Sorrento. After views of the cliffs of Sorrento, we continued through Positano, the tiny fishing village of Fiordo, several watchtowers and stopping in the village of Amalfi. Taormina, Sicily, Italy

We anchored off of the island of Sicily on April 20, 2012 near the port of Giardini Naxos, with views of Mt. Etna. This was our gateway to Taormina. We were provided a shuttle which took us up to a parking garage where we took an elevator, up 7 floors, to the entrance of Taormina. Once there, we entered through the Porto Catania and proceed down Corso Umberto to Piazza IX Aprile. We continued  up this main street turning on Via Teatro Greco and went to the Greek Theater.  We followed the same route back observing the many decorated balconies.
