Panama Canal

On January 27, 2013 we entered the Panama Canal at 6:45 am at the Gatun Locks on the Caribbean side. There are three locks here which will raise a ship 85 feet to Gatun Lake. After traveling through the lake we enter the Gallard Cut which was excavated 312 feet through the continental divide. We then passed under the Centennial Bridge before entering the Pedro Miguel Locks  and then through Miraflores Locks, under the Bridge of the Americas and out into the Pacific Ocean with a panoramic view of Panama City. Panamá Canal & Panamá City

We entered the Panama Canal at 6:40 AM and entered the Gatun Locks at 8:40 AM. We took 10 hrs to travel the 51 miles from the Atlantic to the Pacific. We anchored off of Fuerte Amador for the night. The next day we tendered into Panama City and toured the city.    ...
