Philipsburg, Sint Maarten

On April 25, 2014 we reached our last port of the voyage, Philipsburg, Sint Maarten. The ship docks in Philipsburg about a mile form the main part of town. The easiest way to get there is by taking the water taxi from the pier to the main town pier which puts you in the center of town. Philipsburg is a typical caribbean tourist town with all the “duty free” shops which are along the one thoroughfare, Front Street. Philipsburg, St. Maarten

On November 1, 2011 we docked at  Harbour Point Village which is a 10 minute water taxi ride away from Philipsburg. The town is a typical Caribbean shopping town with all the usual vendors. Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We  approached  the Island of St. Maarten around noon and was docked by 1:00 PM. Here we took the water taxi into Philipsburg where we walked the main street and got our favorite chocolates at The Belgian Chocolate Box by Beatrix on Old Street. We returned by water taxi.
