On March 12, 2015 we left the dock in Myanmar at Noon and anchored out in the Yangon River to wait for the tides to come in so that we would have enough water under the keel as not to ground the ship. At 4:30 we started slowly down the river as the sun was starting to set. On the way down the river we passed many small fishing boats returning to their villages with the days catch. The banks were dotted with small villages usually with a temple and situated in small coves. There was also a floating Pagoda used for funerals on the bank of the river. On most of the shoreline were rice fields with the evening haze rising above them.
